For OLED fabrication, ITO has led the pack in terms of optical transparency and electrical conductivity. However, as researchers at the University of Michigan discovered, classically opaque materials yield significant optical properties when nano-imprinting techniques are applied.

Market Research firm iSuppli reports on the vast multi-billion dollar potential of the OLED display market, as a result of technology maturity in recent months.

While we wait for the appropriate time to release information about our current research here are some interesting technology articles, papers, stories, etc. which are either of direct interest to our current research or that we find interesting and significant.

Hot Tech News / Highlights of Interest:

MIT Researchers have investigated the use of Quantom Dots (Nano-scale conduction band-limiting semi-conductors) in OLEDs to substantially improve color saturation.

Researchers at St. Andrews have described how a “perfect lens” may effectively reverse the normally attractive force generated by the Casimir effect. This may prove to be a great advance for nanoelectro-mechanical systems (NEMS) which have previously been hindered by the effect.
